SPACE ARCHITECTURE & DESIGN, SCHOOL OF DISRUPTION, SWISS INSTITUTE FOR DISRUPTIVE INNOVATION
2024 - 2024
Space Architecture and Design is an emerging discipline at the intersection of architecture, aerospace engineering, technology, and planetary science, exploring how extreme extraterrestrial environments—such as the Moon, Mars, and orbital habitats—challenge conventional assumptions about gravity, atmosphere, materials, construction, and human habitation. Through research-driven and speculative design, the subject emphasizes modular systems, autonomous and AI-assisted construction, life-support integration, and resilient spatial strategies, positioning space architecture as a near-future extension of architectural practice while using off-world constraints to inform innovative, adaptable, and scalable solutions for Earth-based environments.
